GULF SHORES, Ala. — Need plans for New Year’s Eve? Look no further….Brent Burns, 2011 Trop Rock Songwriter and Entertainer of the year, will be featured at the fourth annual Early Bird New Year’s Eve Bash in Gulf Shores.

The Bash is presented by and benefits the Christian Service Center.

Legendary Gulf Coast singer, songwriter and humorist, Brent Burns recently released his ninth CD of original music, “Don’t Come Knockin’ If The Tiki Hut’s Rockin.’” Burns will be performing many of these new songs at Early Bird New Year’s Eve Bash, along with, “If It’s Snowbird Season Why Can’t We Shoot ‘Em?.”

This local favorite plays on radio stations across Florida and the entire Gulf Coast when winter visitors flock to warmer climates.

Based in Gulf Shores, Alabama, Burns has a lot of experience with “snowbirds.

“Most of the snowbirds see the humor. They see themselves in the song and get a laugh out of it,” Burns said.

The event is a “bring your own eats, drinks and table décor.” The Christian Service Center provides the tables and chairs and Burns provides the entertainment. Alcohol is permitted but glitter, confetti and open flames are not.

Doors open at the Erie Meyer Civic Center, 1930 W. Second St., Gulf Shores at 6 p.m. in time for folks to enter and decorate their table-side seating. The table with the most outrageous décor wins this year’s bragging rights and a prize from Brent. The entertainment and dancing begin at 7 p.m. and end at 10 p.m.

Admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Those purchasing a table of 8 get reserved seating. Tickets may be purchased via PayPal by visiting www.brentburns.com, or by Visa/MasterCard by calling 251-948-8863 (Brent’s office). Cash or check purchases may be made at the Christian Service Center office, 317 Dolphin Ave., Gulf Shores, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon.

In its 21st year, the Christian Service Center is a "Hand Up" rather than a "Hand Out" agency. Clients are given immediate emergency aid as well as guidance on finding solutions to problems.

The CSC is a 100 percent volunteer agency funded by the churches of Pleasure Island, various community organizations, including the United Way of Baldwin County, and interested individuals. For more information please call the CSC at 251-968-5256 or visit our web page, www.cscgs.com.
