Several area churches and civic groups are planning events to celebrate the upcoming Easter season. Events include:

Easter events planned in Central, North Baldwin

Several area churches and civic groups are planning events to celebrate the upcoming Easter season. Events include:

Easter services

Holy Week services are being planned at the First United Methodist Church, 120 W. Second St., Bay Minette. Maundy Thursday service begins at 6 p.m., March 24 with Easter Sunday service beginning at 10 a.m. March 27. There will also be a Good Friday service at noon March 25, sponsored by the North Baldwin Ministerial Association Lunch will be provided following the service. Living Lord’s Supper, a recreation of Leonardo DaVinci’s Last Supper featuring the Passover meal, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, March 24 and 25 at Silverhill First Baptist Church, 15898 Silverhill Ave. Admission is free. Easter Sunrise Service, 6:30 a.m. Sunday, March 27 at Oscar Johnson Memorial Park on Silverhill Avenue. Silverhill First Baptist Church welcomes those of all denominations to participate. For more information call 251-945-5181 or visit FBCSilverhill.org.

Community Sunrise Service, 6:30 a.m. Sunday, March 27 at the Garrett Park pavilion, Robertsdale. This is a joyous opportunity for the community to come together in celebration of our Savior’s resurrection from the dead to eternal life. 11th annual Cottontail Express, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through March 26, Wales West Light Railway, 13670 Smiley St., off of County Road 9, Silverhill. Easter EGGstravaganza will be held beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 23 at the First Baptist Church, 1201 Hand Ave., Bay Minette. Spring Eggstravaganza Fellowship, 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 26 at Ulmer Park, Shedrick Hardy Parkway, Douglasville Community of Bay Minette. The event is sponsored by the Mutual Aid Society of Bay Minette. The event includes free food, games for all, egg hunt for ages 2 to 6 and 6 to 11. Door prizes will be awarded to youth and adults.
