FAIRHOPE, Ala. — The Eastern Shore Art Center in Fairhope will debut its May exhibits during First Friday ArtWalk on May 7.

•The Faces of China: Photographs by Marc Miller, May 7 through May 29.

The exhibit contains a collection of 40 color photographs taken in various cities in mainland China while on tour in 2008.

Miller was fascinated with the Chinese people and their wonderfully expressive faces.

•The Courtyard and Beyond, through May 29.

Art placed outdoors, especially in our own private yards, can create a personal sanctuary. This exhibit features functional and sculptural works by 15 local artists including Diane Billingsley-Floyd, Susie Bowman, Barbara Casey, Steven Dark, M. Casey Downing Jr., Lia Frederick, William Gallaspy, Chad Holder, Bruce Larsen, Deborah McMillian, Bertice McPhereson, Joey McPherson, Anne Morgan, Maria Spies, Dave Truesdale and Lynn Warwick.

•Mobile Watercolor and Graphic Arts Juried Show, May 7 through June 25.

The Spring Juried Exhibition will display selected artwork by current members of the society, one of the oldest arts organizations in the Mobile area and will also serve as the forum for consideration and selection of new artist members into the society.

The Eastern Shore Art Center is open Tuesday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
