Eastern Shore Centre’s summer concert series winding down

SPANISH FORT, Ala.—Summer vacation might be waning, but there’s still plenty of time to enjoy some family-friendly fare at the Eastern Shore Centre before those school bells start ringing again.

In fact, local favorite Roman Street will perform live at the shopping center’s fountain July 29, and United Bank will sponsor an Aug. 5 performance by Wes Loper. Both shows are free and run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

"The Eastern Shore Centre fountain has been packed this summer with community visitors, camps and parties," said Kristen Kammer-Hattox, the center’s marketing director.

"With these hot summer temps, I’m sure the water is a welcome, and fun, relief for local families. We’ve had phone calls from moms in other cities calling to make sure the water is on so they can bring their little ones to enjoy some play time," she said.

The summer festivities culminate Aug. 6 with an 8 p.m. screening of "ET," and folks are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets.

"We are happy to offer these family friendly activities to the community as everyone is settling in for the beginning of a new school year," Kammer-Hattox said.
