Wayne S. Eckersley, born April 3, 1944 in Ogden, Utah, to Darrell S. Eckersley and Helen T. Miner, died June 4, 2008 in a trucking accident to save another man’s life in Jacksonville, Fla.
He graduated from Ogden High School in 1963. He was a truck driver for Dolphin Truck Lines of Mobile. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Eckersley of Robertsdale; step-daughters, Rebecca Keeton of Loxley and Amber Wilson of Fayetteville, N.C.; step-son, Matthew Keeton of Foley; grandchildren, Cameron, Tristan and Andrew; brothers, Darrell S. Eckersley Jr. of Los Angeles and Bruce L. Eckersley of Austin, Texas; nephew, Trevin B. Eckersley of Houston; and friends from Dolphin Truck Lines.
Arrangements were made in Jacksonville, Fla.
