Jean Cooper Edge, 73, born Feb. 22, 1934 in Empire, a resident of Foley, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.
She worked for 30 years in civil service before going to work for NASA in 1977. She was a Logistics Management Specialist from the beginning of the space shuttle program until she retired, April 30, 1983, from NASA's JFK Space Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra K. Dorff of Foley; her mother, Grace Cooper of Empire; two sisters, Judith (William) Armstrong of Fultondale and Linda (Thomas) Reeves of Sumiton; brother, Lee Roy Cooper of Empire; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Ray Edge.
Visitation was held Thrusday, Oct. 18 at Goodhope Baptist Church in Grove Hill with with Rev. Thomas Reeves officiating. Burial followed at Goodhope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ron Edge, Bill Newsome, Bobby Baugh, Ralph Hudson, Gerald Edge, Bill Hill, Dr. Robert Edge and Al Moore.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Goodhope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
Arrangements were made by O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home, Thomasville.
