Edith Bonifay “Grandma” Gilliland, 94, passed away suddenly Friday, Oct 21, 2011 at her home. She lived a full life, by her rules, and loved fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leslie Gilliland; and daughter, Hattie Irene Donaldson.
Edith is survived by daughter, the Rev. Edna Kirksey-Dixon and husband, Bill; grandson, Mickey and Jerrie Kirksey; great-grandchildren, Jason, Bradley and Benjamin; grandson, J. Tommy and Robin Kirksey; great-grandchildren, Leslie (Buddy) Stewart and Sydnee; grandson, Leslie Donaldson; and granddaughter, Molly Donaldson.
She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial service will be at Klondike Baptist Church in Pensacola on Friday, Nov. 4, at 5:30 p.m.
Donations may be made to any no-kill animal shelter in lieu of flowers.
