Edward A. “Popa Denk” Denk, age 76, a native and resident of Robertsdale died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012.
Mr. Denk served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany much of that time. He retired as a crew chief after working 32 years for Baldwin E.M.C. He was a member of the Gear Jammers Car Club and was a Trustee for Rock Cemetery. Denk enjoyed his lawn care business and mowing grass. He was also known for his vegetable garden and sharing with the community. He was good to help take care of the elderly and was a patron to those at the W.F. Green State Veteran’s Home in Bay Minette, and enjoyed delivering Christmas gifts. He was also an avid hunter. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Pauline L. Denk; two sons, Eddie (Sheri) Denk and Eric (Gracie Mae) Denk all of Robertsdale; step daughter, Charline (Lacey) Dunn of Fayetteville, N.C.; three sisters, Helen Walden of Robertsdale; Emma Schilling of Arizona, and Annie Guess of Mobile; six grandchildren, Kristen Grace Buck, Erica Dawn Gary, Charles Edward Denk, Aaron Denk, Trintin Dunn and Trevor Dunn; three step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Mack Funeral Home Chapel with Father Pat Madden officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Cemetery, Robertsdale. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Mack Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, Highway. 59 Robertsdale.
