Edward Bruce “Ed” Wilson, 85, born in New Jersey, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at a local hospital in Fairhope.
He retired from the banking business and moved to Fairhope in 1992. He was a member of the Baldwin Senior Travelers where he served as a director for eight years, he had a real interest in auto racing and attended the Indy 500 race for 40 years.
He also loved his 1964 corvette which he let go two years ago. He started the Knife and Fork group in the Welcome Newcomers and chaired for nine years.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille “Lu” Wilson of Fairhope; sisters-in-law, Ivy Welty of Wadsworth, Ohio, and Gwen Everhard of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; nephews, David and Donn Everhard; nieces, Dawn Menser, Amy Miller and Claudia Snyder.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday, March 18 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. A reception will follow at the family residence. Interment will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth, Ohio.
