Edwin Joseph Zimlich III died on Sept. 22, 2015 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, following a stroke.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie White Zimlich, on Aug. 2, 1994.
He is survived by his daughters, Margaret Zimlich Martin and Theresa Lowry Zimlich; his son-in-law, Derek Martin; and his granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth Martin.
Born and raised in Mobile, Ala., he attended Little Flower Catholic School and graduated from McGill Institute in 1953. He was a member of the Army National Guard and was activated for the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He lived in Morgan City, La. for over 30 years. In 1992, he moved to Foley and was a successful real estate agent for 22 years, winning multiple awards including Best of Baldwin, Masters Club, Million Dollar Club and induction into the Centurion Honor Society.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church in Foley on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m., with a memorial luncheon to follow.
