Elaine Y. Hunt, 63, of Hoover, Ala., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011.

Elaine is survived by her husband of 39 years, Michael M. Hunt of Hoover; her sons, Michael Kevin Hunt (Ashley) of Frisco, Texas and Christopher Trey Hunt of Foley; her 2-year-old grandson, Jackson Michael Hunt of Frisco; her father, Herschel  Youngblood of Graysville, Ala.; her sisters, Reneea Ross (Fred) of Bessemer, Ala. and Rhonda Massey (Dennis) of Bessemer; her brothers, Roger Youngblood (Nancy) of Adamsville, Ala. and Donneil Youngblood (Media) of Adamsville; along with three nieces and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Youngblood.

Elaine retired from Bellsouth Communications after 30 years of meritorious service. She began working as a long distance operator and retired as a supervising director.

She was an active member of Riverchase United Methodist Church.

Elaine worked tirelessly over the past four years supporting the Susan G. Komen Foundation, including participating in the annual Race for the Cure. Her friends pushed her in a wheelchair at this year’s race so that Elaine could continue her fight to conquer breast cancer.

A memorial service will be held at Riverchase United Methodist Church on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011. Her family will receive her friends at 10 a.m., and the service will start at 11.
