ELBERTA — Work on the Elberta Civic Center floor is set to begin today.

During its May meeting, the Elberta Town Council approved a slate-colored tile for the kitchen. That tile will be part of a project that will include light tile for the center and a wood-colored tile for a 25-square-foot dance floor.

The civic center will be closed while the new flooring is installed. But the project should be completed by mid-July, council members said.

"We have to have it ready by July 15th," Elberta Mayor Marvin Williams said.

The upgrade is phase two of a project that will include adding parking spaces to the facility.
