Elberta Elementary Kindergarten classes are busy this week learning the letter and sound “Pp” in reading and also reading about animal babies.

In math, we are learning to count and recognize our numbers 0-5. In social studies, we are finishing our unit on fire safety and ending the week with a visit with a local fire truck and firefighters.

First grade students are learning the soft “c” and “g” sounds and also learning about cause and effect in their reading story this week.

In math, they are counting on starting with the greater number and adding and subtracting by telling number stories. In social studies, they are identifying different types of transportation and recreation and telling about the differences in the roles of community and state leaders.

In science, students are identifying properties of objects (size, shape, color, etc…) and telling how living things survive.
