Elementary Music Extravaganza

The music programs of Baldwin County’s public elementary schools took center stage at the annual extravaganza on March 20, 2012 at the Eastern Shore Baptist Church. The master of ceremonies was Robbie Owen, Principal of Rockwell Elementary. The event represented schools from all over the county:

“Singabahambayo,” featuring students from Foley Elementary and Foley Intermediate, directed by Dan Norris.

“Ame fure,” performed by third graders from Rockwell Elementary, directed by Sarah Walley.

“Kindness,” performed by third graders from Summerdale School and Magnolia Elementary, under the guidance of Denise Coghlan.

“Yellow Submarine,” featured students from Delta Elementary and Stapleton Elementary.

“The Candy Man,” performed by the Daphne Elementary Goldentones, directed by Marcia Dowdy.

“Postitive,” performed by Bay Minette Intermediate and Perdido School choirs, led by Dell Edwards.

“Together You and Me (My Dog Sadie),” featured students from J Larry Newton and Fairhope Intermediate. Robert Normand is the director.

“Move, Move, Move,” performed by third graders from Elberta Elementary , directed by Janis Ray.

“Dynamite,” featured by the Robertsdale Elementary 5th grade choir, led by Susie Vivar.

“You Can’t Stop the Beat,” performed by the Gulf Shores Elementary Dolphin Sound, directed by Gay James.

“Tutti Frutti,” featured by students from Silverhill Elementary and Daphne East Elementary, under the direction of Catherine Odom.

“Thanks,” performed by Fairhope Elementary Third Grade Chorus, directed by Ann Whatley.

The evening concluded with a resounding piano performance by Robbie Owen, master of ceremonies as well as a poignant finale performance of “America the Beautiful” by all of the students.
