Ellis Kinsey, a resident of Foley, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the home of his daughter, Christina Fernandez, with his family by his side.

Ellis was born Aug. 2, 1936 in Perdido.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Vallie Kinsey; sister, Mary Lucinda Hadley; and half-brother, Sam “Little Man” Hadley.

Ellis worked for the Baldwin County Highway Department as a heavy equipment operator for 32 years. He helped to build and maintain many of the roads throughout Baldwin County. He retired from the Highway Department of age 54.

Ellis was a proud member of the Poarch Bank of Creek Indians.

He leaves to cherish his memories a half-brother, Milton Hadley; half-sister, Barber Jean Hadley of Bay Minette; 11 children, five sons and six daughters: Ernest “Bo” (Sheila) Kinsey of Elberta, Troy (Sarah) Kinsey, Samuel “Toby” Kinsey, David Ellis (Alisha) Kinsey, all of Foley, John Kinsey of Panama Beach, Fla., Mary (Lee) Johnson of Summerdale, Cynthia (David) Estes, Christina (Ricky) Fernandez of Foley, Christy Kinsey of Miflin, Toni (Robbie) Carver of Bon Secour and Pamela May of Gulf Shores; 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and a devoted, loving and caring friend to the end, his ex-wife, Mary Kinsey.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 29, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Mack Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Wynn Cemetery, Summerdale. A visitation will be held Friday from 1 until 2 p.m. at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale.
