E.M. “Mike” Broussard Etheridge, 79, a longtime resident of Orange Beach and Pensacola, Fla., was born Oct. 22, 1934 in Golden Meadow, La. and passed away Dec. 26, 2013.
She retired as a medical records specialist with the Florida Department of Corrections with more than 20 years of service.
She was also the original owner and developer of Sportsman Marina in Orange Beach and several small businesses, including the “Tourist Trap” retail stores in Gulf Shores and Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
She was married to the late John Harvey Etheridge Jr., and is survived by two brothers; one sister; and seven wonderful children, Capt. Chet Adams (Tracy), Ava Lewis (Tim), Capt. Tommy Adams (Heather), Andrew Adams, April Blankenship (John), Meme Ward (Blake) and Tony Adams; as well as 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in Pensacola at 10 a.m., Dec. 31, 2013. Interment will follow at 11:45 a.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery.
Thereafter, there will be a Celebration of Life reception starting at 1 p.m. at the Sunset Grille Restaurant, Holiday Harbor Marina in Perdido Key, Fla.
