Emergency Road Work on SR 225 in Baldwin County Requires detours

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — Beginning May 5 at 8 a.m., weather permitting, through May 21 at 5 p.m., State Road 225 at mile marker 18 in Baldwin County will be closed for emergency work to repair drainage pipes and rework roadway shoulder slopes. Detours will be activated on May 5 and will remain in place throughout the two-week project or when repairs are completed.

Official signed detours for State Road 225 is as follows:

• Northbound: Take D’Olive Street East to SR 59. Turn left onto SR 59 North and continue to I-65 (Exit 34). Take I-65 South to Exit 31 SR to SR 225. Ends northbound detour for SR 225.

•Southbound: Take SR 225 to I-65 North. Continue I-65 North to Exit 34. Turn right on SR 59 South and continue to D’Olive Street. Turn right on D’Olive Street West to SR 225. Ends southbound detour for SR 225.

•Local Traffic Only: SR 225 will be open to local traffic only between I-65 and marker 18 on the north side of the project and between D’Olive Street and mile marker 18 on the south side of the project. SR 225 will be impassible at mile marker 18.

Motorists are requested to consider adjusting arrival/departure times, observe speed limits and official detour signs, and use extreme caution in this area.
