FAIRHOPE, Ala. — The Eastern Shore Art Center in Fairhope has announced its July exhibits. They are:
•It’s A Guy Thing (through Aug. 28)
This is an exhibit that brings together for the first time three of the area’s most revered visual artists — painters William “Bill” Thompson and Ron Thomson and sculpture artist Casey Downing Jr.
•A Call To Serve: War Posters from the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art (through July 31)
One of the little-known collections of the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, located in Laurel, Miss., is its war propaganda posters of the 20th century. This exhibit of 33 war posters from local governmental agencies such as the post office were collected after the museum opened in 1923.
•Artalicious: A Delightful Taste of Children’s Art (through July 31)
ESAC art instructor Ms. Jackie showcases artwork over the past four months from her 3- to 6-year-old students. Everything was created from recycled materials, and the results are whimsical and sure to put a smile on anyone's face.
•Weeks Bay Photo Contest
Some of the best amateur photographers in the county are showcased in this exhibit, which is comprised of entries from the recent Weeks Bay Photography Contest.
