FAIRHOPE, Ala. — ESILL, the Eastern Shore Institute for Lifelong Learning, offering “School For the Fun of It” since 1977, begins its fall term in September.
Laurie Wiggins, curriculum-development chair, promises a strong lineup of courses on a wide variety of topics: history, music, art, crafts, literature, science and more.
“We are always looking for new instructors and new courses, and we’re happy to have so many this term. Just for a few examples, we will offer calligraphy, meditation, and film classes, as well as courses on North African history, Alabama’s Constitution, Watercolors, and Local Environmental Issues.”
Classes for the new term open every week between Sept. 28 and Nov. 21 at Fairhope, Daphne, and Foley locations. Students are encouraged to register early because some classes have limited space, but registration remains open throughout the term.
According to ESILL President Brenda Huchingson, “To register for a course or to get more information, contact the instructor at the phone number listed with each course. Tuition is just $4.50 per course hour, and some classes have additional supply fees. Members of the Friends of ESILL receive a $5 discount on each class taken.”
For more information about ESILL and Friends of ESILL or for course descriptions, visit www.ESILL.org. Course schedules are available at libraries throughout Baldwin County, the Fairhope Museum of History, the Welcome Center, the James P. Nix Center and other public locations.
