Esther D. Finney, 94, of Foley, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010.

She was a member of East Gate Church of Christ. She wasw born in Crenshaw County in 1916 and moved to Pensacola, Fla., in the early 30s.

She drove a truck at Naval Air Station, Pensacola during World War II and later a school bus and was a hostess at Casino Beach. She later worked at St. Regis Paper Company where she retired.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Tim Foley; second husband, Irvin Finney; two grandchildren, Thomas Maddox and Sharon Maddox; two sisters, Ozell Strickland and Pearl Jenson; and two brothers, Herman McHenry and Roscoe Sexton.

Survivors include three daughters, Anna F. Adcock, Nadine (James) Adams and Patricia Finney “Vicki” (James E.) Foley; six grandchildren, Kenneth Maddox, Jerry (Mary) Adams), Timothy (Cindy) Adams, Jeffery (Susan) Adams, Susan (Leonard) Kichler and Pamela (Tony) Moreno; 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. with funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Sandy O’Steen officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola.
