Esther Norris Rawls, 92, a native of Monroe County and resident of Fairhope, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011.
She was born April 4, 1918 in Frisco City to William Purry and Nettie Belle Wasdin Norris. After her marriage, she resided in Semmes, Millry, and retired to Fairhope.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Albert L. Rawls Sr.; one grandson, Stacey Shannon Dixon; and five siblings, Ervin Norris, William Norris, Lois Morris, Benny Norris, and Carol Norris.
Survivors include two daughters, Annette Rawls (Jim) Dixon of Millry and Marilyn Rawls Turner of Robertsdale; son, Albert L. Rawls Jr. of Fairhope; five grandchildren, Anita Alford (Terry) Waters, Elaine Rawls (Danny) Ladner, Joseph Wayne (Wendy) Alford, Robby Lynn Dixon and Jimmy Christopher Dixon; five great-grandchildren, Jessica Dale Waters, Justin Anthony Waters, Megan Nicole Ladner, Joseph Caleb Alford and Lauren Elizabeth Alford; two brothers, Milford Norris and Carl Norris; two sisters, Ruth Morris and Hazel Norris; a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Friday, April 1 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, with funeral services at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
