When considering a quality education, one must think about the crucial elements that make a person successful.
No matter what age, gender, or level of study, time management can become stressful for students. Priorities must be established and careful planning must take place. If you are a quiet person or procrastinator, it is imperative that you learn how to prepare for projects, speeches, or quizzes appropriately and that you engage in healthy dialogue to provide quality input for group discussions.
Learning how to effectively work with a variety of personalities and attitudes in order to successfully implement a plan or strategy requires much thought and patience. In school, students are not only taught arithmetic, science, social studies, literature and language arts; they are also instructed on how to socialize with others who might be a bit different than them. Therefore, showing respect in discussions and displaying positive character traits is essential to building reputable relations.
Professional ethics implies that educators and students are respectful in communication and use an appropriate tone when sharing dialogue and providing feedback about class assignments. The purpose of ethical standards is to provide a solid foundation for which interactions between students and instructors can flow smoothly. By using a supportive tone in dialogue, feedback is presented in a constructive rather than critical manner.
According to research, communication that is threatening to others is contrary to the spirit of teaching, learning, and scholarly discourse. Therefore, people should be careful in what manner they speak to others so that the correct intentions are presented in a positive manner.
Students should display a supportive tone and respectful character when conversing with others; they also should follow educational guidelines correctly. Rules are established to protect people; negative consequences will follow, for those who decide to break rules. In middle-school, high-school and college coursework, students should refrain from using someone else’s words in writing (known as plagiarism), cheating on an assignment, altering computer hardware or software, violating copyright rules, and communicating falsehoods against others. These are just a few ways in which students can act ethically in education.
