Evelyn Stanton Root, 87, a native of Daphne and resident of Robertsdale, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey L. and Tommie Annie Stanton; brother, Lawrence Stanton; and grandson, Cameron Boothe.
She is survived by her children, Kitty E. (Jim) Akins of Spanish Fort, Susan E. (Ed) Hostetter of Lexington, Ky. and James K. Carney of Robertsdale; grandchildren, Laura Boothe of Elberta, Jason Mauldin of Rome, N.Y., Kenneth Carney of Robertsdale, Jill Akins and Jimmy Akins, both of Spanish Fort; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy C. (Sally) Stanton of Gulf Shores; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 2 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time of the service.
