FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Page & Palette, 32 S. Section St. in Fairhope, will host author Bob Morgan on May 29, from 2–4 p.m. He will sign copies of his book “The Pomegranate Seed: Nikki Russo’s Sojourn Through Institutional Failure & the World of the Occult.”

Appearing with the author will be the subject of the book. The work details Russo’s experience as a teenager who sought medical treatment that led to an unexpected series of life changing events.

When she was 15 years old, Russo had an eating disorder and entered a California hospital. Surprisingly she was later kidnapped by a nurse there and inducted into a cult of witches and subjected to drugs, alcohol and various forms of abuse.

Her story and recovery is basis for “The Pomegranate Seed.”

Written by veteran reporter Bob Morgan, he came to know Russo after an interview for an article in October 2007.

Morgan, who has won 20 Alabama and Mississippi press awards, said Russo’s story is the most compelling that he has personally encountered during his years of journalism.

Russo hoped that she could put these terrible events behind her after her story was put to the page. She continues to deal with the memories of her past.

Morgan and Russo will exclusively sign all books purchased from Page & Palette.
