FAIRHOPE, Ala. - The city of Fairhope will host its annual Arbor Day celebration at Faulkner State Community College on Saturday, Feb. 19 from 10 a.m. until noon.

At 10 a.m., Mayor Tim Kant will present the Arbor Day poster contest winners.

At 10:15 a.m., the tree seedling distribution will begin, with the local Master Gardeners and Junior Master Gardeners to assist with the tree seedling give away. Seedlings available this year will include red maple, pawpaw, mocknut hickory, redbud, devilwood, red bay, sand pine, American plum, white oak, swamp white oak, Southern red oak, and pond cypress.

Residents are also encouraged to celebrate Arbor Day by visiting one of Fairhope’s tree trails, which would be a great outing for those interested in exploring Fairhope and admiring her beauty.

Fairhope’s tree trails consist of the Beach Park trail at the Fairhope Municipal Pier, and the Marietta Johnson tree trail on Faulkner’s campus.

The Arbor Day celebration will occur at the John L. Borom Center at FSCC, which fronts Bancroft Street.
