FAIRHOPE, Ala. - Dr. Amzi Sherling’s practice is among the first to add a 3-D extraoral imaging system to its office, revolutionizing patient treatment. The KODAK 9000 3-D Extraoral Imaging System enables Sherling to obtain low radiation dose, high-resolution three-dimensional (3-D) images, as well as panoramic images.
With the addition of this state-of-the-art 3-D unit, Bayside Dental Care will greatly improve its level of patient care. Three-dimensional technology allows Sherling to better visualize his patients’ dentition, without having to send patients for radiology scans. Viewing an unprecedented level of anatomical detail will help Sherling diagnose more accurately and treat with confidence.
“The KODAK 9000 3-D System can be considered a new category of imaging system, providing the advantages of high-resolution, relatively low radiation dose limited volume 3D imaging,” said Allan G. Farman, BDS, PhD, Professor of Radiology & Imaging Science, University of Louisville School of Dentistry.
Having highly detailed, true-to-life 3-D images helps Sherling provide quicker and more accurate diagnoses, improved treatment planning and better patient care. Focused field of view means that other tissues, such as the brain and eyes, will not be unnecessarily radiated with this unit.
