FAIRHOPE, Ala. — The Home Depot Corp. recently donated $2000 to the Fairhope Volunteer Fire Department  Explorer Post 5058, according to a city news release.

The gift card was used to purchase a 5-by-8 foot enclosed trailer, table, chairs, and a pop-up tent, the release stated.

The Explorers will use the trailer and other items to travel to training facilities across the state and for any festivals, fundraisers, or recruitment drives the post may be involved in.

The Explorers program is a career education program made up of area students ages 14 to 21. The program is overseen by fire department personnel  and serves as a resource for education and training for these students that will benefit them once they begin their careers in the  fire service industry.
