The Fashion Dept at Fairhope High are proud winners at Birmingham Fashion Week.
The contest theme was the Future of Fashion. Middle and High School students were given the challenge to design for the theme without using fabric or a sewing machine.
The non-traditional designs of Dimi Pitsios, Katelyn Tarr and Elise Terral were selected from hundreds of applicants to rock that runway at Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham Friday night.
Tarr and Terral were selected to compete in the final competition on Saturday.
Terral won a scholarship to study Fashion Design at the University of Alabama.
Fairhope sophomore Courtney French had her modeling debut on the catwalk, and modeled the design of Pitsios. Terral modeled her own design, and Nicole Tarr, JD, modeled for her sister.
This is the fourth year that students under the direction of Dianne Bernasconi have been selected to display at Birmingham Fashion Week and is the second consecutive win for FHS.
The next Fashion competition will be at Mobile Fashion Week.
Terral will be debuting her 12 garment line at Steeple Place on Oct 1, and competing for another scholarship. Those interested can get ticket info at www.Mobfashionweek.com
