Monday afternoon, Fairhope High principal Jon Cardwell sent an email to parents about a phone scam that had attempted to solicit money from local parents.
The letter read as follows:
Dear Pirate Nation,
A couple of warnings...
1. A company is calling local businesses saying they are handling FHS fundraising for Cheer and other sports; they are NOT. I've called the company, but, ironically, they don't talk to me when I tell them who I am. FHS handles all fundraising locally; if in doubt, please call me or any other administrator.
2. A company is calling parents pushing the purchase of ACT prep materials falsely claiming to represent FHS. Once again, they are not endorsed by us, nor did they get your student info from us.
Rule of thumb, anyone asking for your credit card info or wanting you to mail a check to anywhere other than us is running a scam using our school name.
That being said, FHS Softball is selling boxes of fruit; contact Trevor Powell or Chuck Nelson to support our girls. tpowell@bcbe.org or cnelson@bcbe.org.
Have a great day and Go Pirates!
