FAIRHOPE, Ala. The city of Fairhope announced today it was no longer taking donations for tornado relief and provided a list of other organizations still receiving them.
The city has played an active role in tornado relief since the devastating storms hit North Alabama two weeks ago, including sending an electric crew to help restore power there.
On May 9, the city provided the following list of organizations currently receiving donations: Fairhope United Methodist Church,928-1148; Fairhope First Baptist Church, 928-8685 (accepting towels and linens); ny branch of RBC Bank, 928-9583; any branch of Vision Bank, 928-1648; and Homestead Village, 929-0250.
The city also noted that clothes are only being accepted on a limited basis.
