Fairhope, Robertsdale stay unbeaten in Classic

On the final day of BayBears Classic pool play in Gulf Shores, Satsuma beat host Gulf Shores 10-1 and Robertsdale beat Daphne 11-1. Robertsdale improved to 3-0 and moved to the championship round of the Classic. The Bears will play Alma Bryant (3-0) at 2 p.m. Saturday. The winner will face the winner of the Baldwin County-Fairhope game at 7 p.m. for the BayBears Classic title.

In Mobile, Fairhope blanked Murphy 13-0 behind seven RBI from Evan East. Ethan Hunt picked up the win in five innings for Fairhope.

On Tuesday, Satsuma scored 15 runs in the bottom of ths sixth and beat Daphne 17-7. Kyle Reese led Daphne with three doubles and an RBI in the loss.

In Tuesday’s late game, Robertsdale knocked off host Gulf Shores 12-7. Tres Givens had three hits and four RBI and Patrick Kucera had three hits and an RBI to lead Robertsdale. Nick Thompson got the win for the Bears in relief.

In Tuesday action at Faith Academy, Fairhope knocked off McGill-Toolen 3-2. The defending BayBears Classic champs were boosted by Wes Kent’s two-run homer in the top of the seventh.

On Monday, Daphne shut out Gulf Shores 11-0, Robertsdale beat Satsuma 8-6, Spanish Fort beat Foley 5-1, Baldwin County beat Mary Montgomery 8-7 and Fairhope beat Faith Academy 11-2.
