FAIRHOPE, Alabama—The weekend shooting death of a 24-year-old female in Fairhope remains under investigation, according to a Fairhope Police Department new release this afternoon.
At approximately 7:30 a.m. on March 10, Fairhope police received the report of a shooting in the 23000 Block of County Road 13 and discovered a deceased 24-year-old female at the site, the release stated.
“At this time, the incident is an unclassified death investigation,” Fairhope Police Chief Bill Press said in the release. “We have and will continue to work with the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office, the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, and the Baldwin County Coroner’s Office to determine, not only the cause of death, but also the circumstances surrounding this case as well. As soon as the investigation concludes, we will provide further information. In the interim, there is nothing in the initial investigation that should cause a concern for public safety.”
