FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Fairhope High School’s Merideth Busby recently auditioned for and received a position in the Alabama Shakespeare Festival’s elite State Youth Theatre summer program.
This year’s State Youth Theatre will take place at ASF in Montgomery from June 1-14. Now in its third year, the program is an opportunity for Alabama high school students to work in a regional theatre setting withprofessional artists who are New York-based and members of Actors’ Equity Association.
Students will receive intensive instruction that will be capped off with their own production of Romeo and Juliet on the ASF stage. The production will be open to the public. Students who participate in the State Youth Theatre will be housed on the campus of Huntingdon College in Montgomery.
