DAPHNE, Ala. — Bay Rivers Art Guild of Daphne held the Baldwin County High School Senior’s Scholarship Judged Art Show on Saturday.
Phillip T. Counselman, assistant professor of art at the University of Mobile, judged this year’s show.
Counselman is also a renowned sculptor and painter with various works displayed throughout the Southeast.
First place was awarded to Alex Shaw of Fairhope High School. Shaw received a $1,000 college scholarship for his work entitled “Tuesday.”
The second place scholarship of $500 was awarded to Haley Milton from Baldwin County High School for her entitled work “Young Love.”
Foley High School student Samantha Havel earned third place and a $300 scholarship for her work entitled “Forbidden Beauty.”
Honorable mentions went to:
•Michael Estes, “I’m Wide Awake,” Fairhope High School.
•Regan Branch, “Shoegaze,” Fairhope High School.
•Paige Trawick, “Intermission,” Fairhope High School.
•Auburn Garrett, “Wolverine,” Robertsdale High School.
•Josh Anderson, “Piles,” Baldwin County High School.
All 82 entries will be on display at the BRAG gallery until Dec 17.
