FAIRHOPE, Ala. - Registration is now open for the Alabama State Trails Conference, which is aimed at anyone who has an interest in trail planning, development and enjoyment of recreational trails of all types in Alabama, according to a city of Fairhope new release.

The March 31 - April 3 conference will offer three days of displays, workshops, demonstrations and exhibits, according to the release. Workshop sessions will include information on how to partner with other groups, funding sources, networking opportunities, economic benefits of trails, trails and health, and updates on trail projects planned and underway throughout Alabama.

The conference will occur at the Fairhope Civic Center and is sponsored by the Cheaha Trail Riders Inc., the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs and the National Park Service.

In the exhibit hall new trail development resources will be displayed, and attendees will have the opportunity to visit with nonprofit trail and recreation groups, and learn more about land management agencies and potential government partners, as well as visit with vendors connected with trail work in Alabama, according to the release.

The exhibit hall will be open to the general public and conference attendees all day Friday and Saturday.
