On Friday, a Fairhope woman was life-flighted to Mobile after her car ran into a Section Street gas station.
According to eyewitness reports, the woman's car drove into the plate glass window in the front of Rambo's Auto Service, narrowly avoiding the gas pumps.
In an interview with WABF 1220 AM, Gerry Rambo said the woman had pulled up to have her gas pumped when her car suddenly started moving backward. It then bumped the curb protecting the tanks and slammed into the building.
The collision knocked her out of her car and onto the ground.
No official statement has been released by the authorities on the accident yet, but it is believed the accident may have been caused by a medical condition.
No one else was injured by the event.
