FAIRHOPE -- The Fairhope/Point Clear Community Foundation exceeded the $200,000 goal of the one-to-one challenge grant issued by the Mapp Family Foundation.
Through donations and community support, the Fairhope/Point Clear Community Foundation met the challenge grant goal with funds totaling more than $215,000. The support will go far in building resources to support future initiatives in the community.
In October 2019, the Mapp Family Foundation announced a $100,000 increase of the one-to-one challenge grant. Reaching this goal has proven that the community is both supportive and excited about the work that the Fairhope/Point Clear Community Foundation is doing and will continue to do.
“We’re so grateful to everyone in our community who believes in our mission and donated to the Fairhope/Point Clear Community Foundation. We owe a huge thanks to Louis and Melinda Mapp for their generosity,” said Ashley Bonner, chair of the Advisory Committee. “This is only the beginning for the Fairhope/Point Clear Community Foundation.”
The Fairhope/Point Clear Community Foundation was established in January 2018 to make a lasting impact on the Fairhope/Point Clear community. The foundation established the Fairhope/Point Clear Community Fund as a vehicle to receive donations and bequests to benefit the community. In addition to the Fairhope/Point Clear Community Fund from which the advisory committee administers the Foundation’s competitive grant process, several donor-advised funds have also been established under the foundation.
