BAY MINETTE — The funeral service for fallen Perdido marine LCPL Bruce E. Ferrell, Jr. will be held on Monday, August 17, 2 p.m., at the Bay Minette Civic Center. Interment will follow at Bryars-McGill Cemetery, located at County Road 47, Perdido, Ala.

Ferrell's remains are scheduled to arrive at the Mobile Airport at 9:12 a.m., Sunday, August 16. His remains are then to be transported to the John F. Rhodes Civic Center in Bay Minette.

Visitation will be held at the Civic Center on Sunday, from 2-8 p.m.

State Presentations will be made at the funeral service. Senator Trip Pittman will represent Governor Riley and the State, presenting the Governor’s certificates and Alabama flag. The ALNG will present the DSM, and the American Legion will present the Gold Star Banner.

Ferrell, 21, was killed by an improvised explosive device while serving in Afghanistan.
