Chris Farlow of Fairhope has been named the Home Builders Association of Alabama (HBAA)'s Jerry Kyser Builder of the Year for 2021.

Farlow was honored during the HBAA's Convention awards presentation on Nov. 5 at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi.

The Jerry Kyser Builder of the Year Award recognizes a builder member from a local association with more than 500 members who has shown outstanding service to their local and state associations, their community, and the building industry as a whole.

Farlow, the owner of Valere Homes, is a member of the Baldwin County Home Builders Association, where he served two terms as its president and continues to serve on its board of directors. He currently serves as president of the Baldwin County Home Builders Charitable Foundation and chairs its Disaster Recovery Committee. He also represents the BCHBA as a state director. At the state level, Farlow is currently serving as the HBAA's Public Relations Committee co-chair and serves as a national delegate for the National Association of Home Builders.
