FOLEY, Ala. — Police have identified a woman killed in a two-vehicle crash last week as Lee Annie Mitchell Cooper, 65, of Summerdale.
Cooper was pronounced dead at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3. The crash occurred at 2:13 p.m., according to a news release from the Foley Police Department.
Cooper, in a white 1993 Acura, was on Airport Road eastbound across Baldwin County Road 65, when she failed to yield the right of way to Omar Perez, 24, of Foley, who was northbound on 65, the release said.
Perez was in a 1995 black Mustang.
Perez’s Mustang hit Cooper’s Acura in the passenger side and sent the Acura into the ditch. Cooper was transported to SBRMC by ambulance where she was pronounced dead.
Perez was not injured. Alcohol, drugs and speed are not considered factors in the investigation at this point, the release said.
