We would like to congratulate the Varsity
Girls basketball team for their win on Saturday! The girls played
at East Hill against Alethia Christian School, winning 49-36. The
Lady Saints played an awesome game and earned the title "West
Regional Tournament Champions." We would also like to congratulate
Carrie Coker for winning the MVP award of the year. The Lady Saints
will move on to the Final Four Tournament this weekend. They will
be playing at 2pm on Friday in Dothan against West Florida Baptist
Academy, and if they win, they will play at 1pm Saturday for the
Championship title. Good Luck, Lady Saints! ~ Haley Henson, Madison
Meeker
On Friday, February 10, the students at
Central Christian enjoyed listening to the Zambian Choir. The choir
is an African vocalist group that travels the
country, sharing the good news of God's word through music. The
student body took up an offering to help raise money for the
building of a Christian school in Zambia, Africa.
Also on Friday, the Central Christian varsity
boys basketball team travelled to East Hill Christian to play in
the Regional Championship. The boys played in the afternoon,
winning against the Atmore Rams. The win resulted in a second game
that night against S.L. Jones. Though the Saints lost the last
match, they played exceptionally well. Good job,
Saints! ~Jolie Thompson
Many CCS Elementary classes celebrated
Valentine's Day with class parties. The 2nd grade, however,
celebrated with a Valentine's Manners Banquet at Ivey's in
Robertsdale.
This month, Sheila Alberstadt, author of the
Maggie McNair series, will be coming to Central Christian to read
to the 2nd grade. The students and faculty are looking forward to
her visit!
Since February is children's dental month, a
dental clinic will be held at CCS. In other health related news,
the CCS elementary participated Thursday, February 9, in Jump for
the Heart, hosted by the American Heart Association. ~Anna
