Field of Valor set for Nov. 8-11

Posted

DAPHNE, Ala.—The Eastern Shore Exchange Club will host the first Field of Valor on Nov. 8-11 at USS ALABAMA Battleship Park. The Eastern Shore Exchange Club will honor all who serve our country, whether in the police or fire departments, or military service personnel.

Flags can be purchased for  $25 each and will be displayed at Battleship Park for four days and lit in the evenings. After the event the person who purchased the flag can take their flag home to display throughout the year. Sponsors are also being sought for the event. All sponsors will be recognized at the event. For more details or to purchase your flag go online to: http://exchangeclubofmobile.org/ESEC/vf.htm.

“This event will be a series of events at the USS ALABAMA Battleship Park during Veterans Day weekend,” said Fred Jones, event chairman. “We will also be giving out small hand held flags at the Daphne Veterans Day Parade. If you are interested please contact the club at 251-753-5063.”

The 3-by-5 American flags will be installed on the front grounds of the park, facing the causeway. The flags will be removed after the event and installed again in November 2009.

The Exchange Club is an all-volunteer, national service organization for men and women who want to serve their community, develop leadership skills and enjoy new friendships.
