ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — Got a toothache or a loose tooth and have been putting off going to the dentist because you can’t afford it?

Well, Robertsdale Dental Care is coming to your rescue on Friday, May 13 as they host the Fifth Annual “Dentistry With A Heart”. Dr Jason Northcutt along with Dr. Jeremy Hardy will be doing free tooth extractions beginning at 7 a.n.. for adults 18 and older on a first come, first serve basis.

“We helped 136 people last year and the first person we saw had been in line since 2:30 that morning. Since there tends to be a long line, we encourage people to bring their chairs so they will have somewhere to sit and wait,” said Alyssa Hoekstra, clinic administrator.

The hope is the people who really need this service will take advantage of it and more people will come out this year, Hoekstra said. “We will see people all day and always try to get done by the afternoon, depending on how may people show up.”

Inspiration for this project came when Dr. Northcutt took an overseas trip to do some dental work and wanted to bring it back to his community. Helping out on Friday also will be Dr. David and Tracy Northcutt of Montrose, Dr. Mary Ann Mason from Montrose, Dr. Roger Grissett from Fairhope, Dr. Richard Glass from Georgia and about 30 volunteers from the community, Hoekstra said.

A table set up with orange juice and water will be available and businesses are also lending a hand with donations as well include Henry Schein, Crest/Oral B, Airgas, Performance Graphics, Mobile Press-Register, Power 88, Regions Bank, Coca-Cola, Community Coffee, Campbelll’s Hardware, Robertsdale Feed and Seed, Chic-Fil-A, Dr. Roberto Pischeck, Pizza Hut, Greers, First Baptist Church, Robertsdale, Cathy Elgie Photography.

“We are so thankful to all the people who help to make this event possible every year. They are so supportive of us in all we do,” Hoekstra said.

This service provided by RDC is also performed by dentists all over the country at different times of the year and over 30,000 patients are projected to be helped this year.

RDC is located at 18471 Wilters St. and can be reached at (251) 947-3636 or visit the website: www.robertsdaledental.com.
