BAY MINETTE, Ala. - Jesse Gregson, who first donned a firefighter’s uniform in 1977, will retire April 30 after a distinguished 31-year career.
“I have seen a lot and done a lot in that time,” Gregson told Baldwin County Commissioners Tuesday while accepting a proclamation from Commissioner David Bishop at the Administration Building in Bay Minette.
Steven Pryor, representing the Baldwin County Legislative Delegation, also presented Gregson with a state House of Representatives proclamation honoring Gregson. The legislative bill was sponsored by Harry Shiver, R-Bay Minette.
Gregson was promoted to captain in 1995 and became assistant chief in 1997. He was named chief in 2005.
“Chief Gregson’s faithful assistance to the Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency over the span of many years remains a reminder of his service to all citizens of Baldwin County,” the proclamation stated.
