ELSANOR, Ala. — A trailer home owned by William Hadley on County Road 87 is a total loss, says Elsanor Volunteer Fire Department Chief Alan Paul. in a telephone interview.
The fire, according to Paul, is still under investigation and state fire marshals have been called in to determine the cause of the blaze, which broke out Thursday, Oct. 9. According to Paul, no one or pets were hurt in the fire. He says he and members of his department were paged to the fire at 12:45 p.m.
“Five departments turned out,” said Paul, listing the Robertsdale, Rosinton, Styx River, Seminole and Elsanor departments. Seven pieces of apparatus came to the fire.
Unfortunately, according to reports, a fight broke out between what is reported to be friends and family members of the trailer’s owner.
“Normally we don’t see that,” said Paul. “Usually things are pretty organized.”
Because of the fight, Paul says that members of the fire departments, “had to pull away from what we were doing.”
Paul added that he had to call in the Baldwin County Sheriff’s office to keep order, explaining that ordinarily they do not respond to every fire scene.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, no arrests were made at the fire scene. However, Major Anthony Lowery says Danette Cooper, 41, William Hadley, 36, Martha Parnell, 51, Denise Weaver, 26, and Shirley Middleton, 31, would receive summons to District Court to answer charges of harassment and obstructing governmental operations.
