First Baptist lists summer, fall activities

BAY MINETTE, Ala. — First Baptist Church is planning the following activities:

• July 20-24: First Baptist Church Children's Camp 2008 is for students who have finished second through fifth grades. The camp site is in south Baldwin County at the Baldwin Baptist Camp near Elberta.

The camp is located on Wolf Bay on 50 acres. The dormitories are bunk style with private baths. The camp is fully air-conditioned. Shorts and T-shirts will be appropriate at all times. The cost for the whole week including meals is $150.

Things to bring to camp: Bible, linens, pillow, blanket, towels/washcloths, toiletries, athletic shoes, casual clothes, swimsuit, beach towel, fishing gear (optional), flashlight, insect repellants, change for snacks.

A $25 deposit is due at sign up, with the balance due prior to departure.

• July 21-25: Baldwin Baptist Builders will go to Thomaston, Ga., to Northside Baptist Church to do construction work and conduct backyard Bible Clubs. For more information, contact the church office at (251) 937-9536.

• July 29: Senior Travelers will leave the church at 9:30 a.m. to attend the 2 p.m. matinee of "Westside Story" at the Alabama Shakespeare Theater in Montgomery.

The cost is $35 for the bus and the show. Extra money will be needed for lunch.

• Oct. 20-24: Senior Travelers are making plans to go to Ridgecrest, N.C., for the Ridgecrest Fall Retreat. Ridgecrest, a Southern Baptist Camp, is located near Ashville, N.C., and is in a beautiful setting and attracts many inspirational speakers. The Rev. Richard Traylor and Junior Hill are on this year's list of speakers.
