Betty Jane Flirt, 84, a native of Pensacola, Fla., and a resident of Elberta, died Sunday, April 19, 2009.
She was active in St. Bartholomew Church for over 40 years. She was an avid fisherman. She loved her dogs, and was active in her grandchildrens’ lives. She was a real good cook, and was a friend to all.
Survivors include two sons, Robert W. (Helen Louise) Flirt Sr. and Gordon L. (Donna) Flirt, both of Elberta; seven grandchildren, Troy, Renee, Robert, Ashley, Marty Marie Flirt, Nancy Metts and Robbie McGee; 13 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley. The Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 23 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Elberta. Interment will follow at Swift Presbyterian Cemetery, Foley.
