MOBILE — A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, has claimed the life of a Pensacola, Florida, man.
According to a release issued Tuesday, Sept. 28 by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Mobile Post, Ronald Eduardo Rodriguez Jr., 32, was driving a 2016 Jeep Renegade when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2011 Nissan Sentra driven by Alex Christopher Todd, 23, of Pace, Florida. Rodriguez was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred on U.S. 90 at the 70-mile marker, approximately 10 miles east of the Robertsdale city limits.
According to releases issued Sunday by ALEA, the crash, which occurred at the intersection of U.S. 90 and Merchant Lane, shut down traffic on the highway for nearly two hours.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
