Florida Public Archaeology Network’s archaeology lab

The Florida public Archaeology Network’s archaeology lab is open to volunteers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteers can stay as long as they want, however one hour minimum is required. No experience is necessary and the lab is open to all ages, but younger than 17 needs parental supervision. You will work with sorting artifacts from past Archaeological field schools thru the University of West Florida Anthropology department. Current work is on artifacts from the Barkley House Plantation, the Barkley house was built between 1825 and 1830 by George Barkley who was a prominent merchant in the area.
