Floyd More “Pete” Rider, born Dec. 31, 1917 to Joshua D. and Missouri Bertha Vines Rider, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015 at his residence in White House Fork.
He is survived by two daughters, Delores “Dee” Cain and Darnell “Doli” (Johnny) Boyington, both of White House Fork; a sister, Dorothy Carpenter of White House Fork; six grandchildren, Dawn Deane of the Horseneck community, Kristi (Harlan) Parrish of Birmingham, April (John) Ward of Bay Minette, Shay Cain Hodgen of White House Fork, Anthony (Stacie Raye) Boyington of White House Fork and Kevin (Amanda) Boyington of White House Fork; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Marjorie Gladys Smith Rider; and his daughter, Drusilla “Dru” Deane.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at 11 a.m., at White House Fork Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Fred Stallworth officiating.
Burial will follow in White Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, from 6 until 9 p.m., at White House Fork Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Boyington, Scott Cooper, Joshua Hodgen, John Ward, Wendell Lassiter and Harlan Parrish.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Thomas and Joe Bo Rider.
Although the family will accept flowers, they suggest memorial contributions be made to the Dawn House, P.O. Box 1446, Bay Minette, AL, or to White House Fork Pentecostal Holiness Church, 11513 White House Fork Road, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
